Global Rendition System Mapping
Madrid – May 22 2013, Today, the “Global Rendition System” database and interactive map was launched by Access Info’s partners, Reprieve and The Global Detention Project. Much original data included in the mapping was collected by Access Info and Reprieve in the Rendition on Record project, under which access to information requests were submitted to 29 countries and one international organisation. The Global Rendition System database and mapping has been released on the eve of President Obama’s major speech on counter-terrorism policy.
The mapping is the most comprehensive resource so far visualising the CIA’s programme of renditions and secret prisons as part of the ‘war on terror’. The website gives users access to all of the original documents, including those disclosed to Access Info Europe (see data disclosed under Freedom of Information requests, here). The database contains over 11,000 flights by 120+ aircraft linked by past investigations to renditions, and details of over 50 private companies contracted for/by the CIA in relation to rendition flights.

Nueva Guía de Acceso a los Documentos de la UE
Madrid, 9 de mayo de 2013 – Para celebrar el Día de Europa, Access Info lanza una guía de Acceso a los Documentos de la UE de uso ciudadano y llama a la ciudadanía y las organizaciones de sociedad civil a que ejerzan sus derechos y pidan acceso a los documentos.
La UE ha reconocido el derecho fundamental de acceso a los documentos de la UE, pero la ley de libertad de información europea – que se encuentra bajo el título de 'Regulation 1049/2001' – sigue siendo muy poco utilizada por la población. La nueva guía desmitifica el proceso de pedir documentos a la UE explicando paso a paso como hacer una solicitud.
Access Info espera que esta guía incentive a los ciudadanos a ejercer su derecho a preguntar, así como que defiendan este derecho ante el Defensor del Pueblo Europeo en los casos en los que no se les facilite la información completa.

Presenting “The Citizens’ Report: Participation, Ethics and Transparency – What citizens want from Brussels”, the culmination of a year of consultations with members of the public across Europe, Access Info Europe said its research shows that citizens are concerned about lack of transparency, weak ethics regulation and low levels of citizen participation in the European Union.
Las instituciones han ignorado el 54% de las solicitudes de información tras 12 meses de debate público sobre transparencia
• Access Info Europe y la Fundación Ciudadana Civio presentan el Informe Tuderechoasaber.es 2012, que analiza las solicitudes de información enviadas a las instituciones desde esta web
• Únicamente el 13% de las preguntas (75 de 567) obtuvo de las instituciones la información que requería el solicitante
• La futura ley de transparencia es insuficiente y no permitirá mejorar el acceso a la información en la práctica
Madrid, 9 de abril de 2013 – Un año después de la entrada en la agenda política de la Ley de Transparencia (el borrador se presentó el 26 de marzo de 2012), y a punto de finalizar el plazo para enmendarla en el Congreso, los ciudadanos no reciben mejor atención de las instituciones que entonces: el nivel de preguntas que no reciben contestación sigue por encima de la mitad (54%), mientras que solo un 13% de solicitudes recibe la información solicitada, según el informe de 2012 de tuderechoasaber.es (ver on line) que publican hoy Access Info Europe y la Fundación Ciudadana Civio.
