The Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo will host the summer school Transparencia y gobierno abierto: realidades y aplicación práctica, which will be held from 22 to 24 June as part of los Cursos de Verano of La Magdalena.
The course coordinated by Rafael Rubio, professor of Constitutional Law, will discuss the key issues of transparency like the role of the Consejo de la Transparencia and the improvement of transparency portals in different administrations.
The course include a theoretical part, conferences and roundtables, with the partecipation of José Luis Ayllón, Secretario de Estado de Relaciones con las Cortes and one of the main promoter of the Transparency Law, who will explain how this law was passed and how its implementation was evaluated by the government. Other speakers will be the researcher Victoria Anderica of Access Info Europe and the Letrado del Consejo General del Poder Judicial Manuel Olmedo. The Secretario de Estado de Telecomunicaciones, Víctor Calvo-Sotelo, will make the final remarks.
Moreover, Transparencia y gobierno abierto will hold a workshop on data journalism led by Jesús Escudero, journalist of elconfidential.com, showing to students what are the technological tools which media professionists can use to process the present flow of ‘overinformation’ and give it some sense.
