Luisa Izuzquiza, Communication Officer of Access Info Europe, will take part in the 7th Discussion Panel of the 1st Madrid Socialist Forum “[Re]inventing Madrid”. The panel, titled “Transparency, Democracy and Citizen Participation” will take place on 29 March at 07:00 pm in the Assembly Room of the Socialist headquarters.

The participants of the discussion will address topics such as how to encourage a higher citizen participation in decision making and how to achieve more transparency in the public sector from political parties and institutions. They will also debate the Draft Law on Transparency, Access to Public Information and Participation of the Region of Madrid. This draft has been passed in the Plenary Session of the Asamblea de Madrid and is currently in the parliamentary procedure’s stage.

Other participants of the panel will be:

  • Pedro Barrero (Moderator), Secretary for Programmes, Democratic Quality and Transparency of the Madrid Socialist Party.
  • Diego Cruz, Socialist party MP in the Asamblea de Madrid.
  • Mercedes Sánchez, Coordinator of the Madrid Socialist Organisation for Participation and Diversity.
  • Enrique Villalobo, President of the Madrid Regional Federation of neighbourhood associations.
